The Christmas Music of Mannheim Steamroller
As part of Universal Orlando Resort’s holiday celebration, Michael Roddy wrote and directed the theme park adaptation of Mannheim Steamroller’s concert, a spectacular fusion of storytelling, music, and holiday magic.
Working closely with Grammy Award–winning composer Chip Davis and the world-renowned group Mannheim Steamroller, Michael helped create an exclusive theatrical experience that brought Mannheim Steamroller's music to Universal audiences in an all-new way. Together, they developed original arrangements and music crafted specifically for the show, blending Mannheim Steamroller’s signature sound with the timeless heart of Dr. Seuss’s world.
The production marked a milestone in Universal Orlando’s holiday entertainment lineup, introducing an immersive, emotionally resonant performance that combined live actors and the unforgettable Mannheim Steamroller score. The collaboration also coincided with the release of Mannheim Steamroller’s album Christmasville, further linking the show to the group’s evolving holiday legacy.
Michael’s creative leadership ensured that the spirit of the season and the story’s message of love, redemption, and community shone through in every scene, cementing The Christmas Music of Mannheim Steamroller as a Universal Orlando holiday tradition.
